Our Coach, Tom Merchant has been teaching and coaching tennis for over 30 years, of which 17 have been at the collegiate level. For a few years, he was the Head Professional for Tennis and Country Clubs in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Florida. He is also a Certified Professional with the USPTR and a member of the Head Tennis Advisory Staff.

The son of USTA Tennis Hall of Fame member Jack Merchant, Coach Merchant has been involved with the game since he was a child. He was a nationally ranked junior and went on to an extensive tournament career. While on tour and in competition, Tom also completed his Social Psychology Degree from LaRoche College.  Mr. Merchant is now a Head Coach at Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA.
